Our History

Cozza Enterprises was founded in 1999 by Craig Cozza for the purpose of developing new and diverse residential and commercial projects in the city of Pittsburgh. A Pittsburgh developer with strong Pittsburgh roots, Cozza Enterprises strives to temper the visions of a new Pittsburgh with the city's neighborhood principle. Its philosophy is to meld creative new designs with the existing fabric of Pittsburgh's communities; Pittsburgh's precious heritage must remain unchanged while creating a city that will entice new faces and young families back into the area.

"We see our work as developers as shoring up two foundations - one structural and the other social - to make sure our projects will be strong and successful for years to come." Cozza said. "It's an entirely different process to see a place you've always known with a new eye; to discern the unique character of each neighborhood, in some cases each street, and then identify what is best and beautiful; how the project, even if a completely new structure, will preserve that identity and move us forward."

With each project, Cozza Enterprises involves community groups to learn how the existing community functions; what its desires are for the future. Cozza Enterprises challenges its staff and partners to meet those requirements. "Involving the community, building majority support, means that not only the project but the future tenants will be accepted as part of the neighborhood," Cozza explained. "Then and only then, have we effectively done our job as real estate developers."

We strive to find the best possible locations for all our developments within the city of Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas. Grandview Avenue and the corner of Forbes and Murray, and are just a couple of the highly visible areas in which we are developing. Cozza Enterprises consistently seeks out the best general contractors and support professionals, so the job is done right the first time.
